From Nixon to Obama: Scandal as a Political Weapon

Geoff Shepard

Familiar names: Watergate, Iran Contra, Fast and Furious, Benghazi. How do today's 30,000 deleted email messages (Obama/Clinton) measure up to yesterday's 18-minute tape recording gap (Nixon)? Geoff Shepard joined the Nixon White House staff right out of Harvard Law School, stayed for 5 years, and ended up on Nixon’s Watergate defense team.  He’s followed political scandals ever since.  Come join us for a presentation on the necessary ingredients, how such national scandals evolve, and the disturbing patterns emerging in their use and abuse.  This is a fine opportunity to earn one hour of MCLE ethics credit.
