Voting Rights and the Supreme Court



Please join the Orange County Federalist Society on Friday, September 27, 2013 for a special presentation by Mr. Ilya Shapiro, as he addresses current issues and events surrounding developments in the states' voter identification laws, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and the Supreme Court's recent decision in Shelby County v. Holder.

Ilya Shapiro is a Senior Fellow in Constitutional Studies at the Cato Institute and is the Editor in Chief of the Cato Supreme Court Review.  Mr. Shapiro's writing on legal matters has been published extensively in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, National Review Online, Weekly Standard, and Los Angeles Times. He has appeared on CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox News, CNN, Telemundo and Univision to comment on legal issues of the day.
 
When: Friday, September 27, 11:30 a.m. (registration), 12:00 pm (lunch)

Where: Knobbe Conference Center (1st Floor), 2040 Main Street, Irvine, CA 92614 (949) 760-0404

Cost: $35 for lunch ($30 for members and $20 for law students) and 1 hour of MCLE credit. (The Federalist Society is a California State Bar approved provider of MCLE).
