The Next Supreme Court Issue: Carrying Handguns?

You are cordially invited to join the
Orange County Lawyers' Chapter of the Federalist Society as we host

ALAN GURA

Please join us on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 for a special presentation by Mr. Alan Gura, as he addresses recent cases that have been working their way through the Ninth Circuit voiding restrictions by municipalities and counties on the right to bear concealed weapons outside the home.  Specifically, in San Diego and Yolo Counties, such restrictions have been overturned, placing those rulings in direct conflict with holdings in other jurisdictions throughout the country.
In 2013, the National Law Journal named Mr. Gura one of the 100 most influential lawyers in America.  Mr. Gura, an expert on Second Amendment issues, has argued two major Second Amendment precedents before the Supreme Court, District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), and McDonald v. City of Chicago (2010). Prior to founding his firm, Gura and Possessky, Alan served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California, as Counsel to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and as a litigation associate for the Washington offices of Sidley Austin. Alan began his career clerking for U.S. District Judge Terrence Boyle, in the Eastern District of North Carolina.
